By air

International airport of Valencia (Manises) with scheduled flights to Spanish and European capitals. Once in the airport, there are several ways to reach the city center:

  • Using metro lines 3 and 5, that run approximately every 8-10 minutes and take about 20 minutes to reach the city center. The metro systems use a rechargeable cardboard ticket that costs 1€. One needs to charge a special ticket in the cardboard ticket to go from/to the airport (3.90€). Please, be aware that, usually, there are no metros after midnight.
  • Using the bus line 150 that normally departs every 15 minutes and takes about 30-40 minutes to reach metro station Angel Guimerà (city center). The tickets are about 1.50€.
  • It is also possible to take a taxi, which approximately costs 20-25 euros.
  • Using Cabify, a spanish system similar to Uber. The mobile app is available for download for all major systems. The system costs approximately 20-25 euros.

By road

A-7 motorway (Exit 51) connecting to the European motorway network. National route N-340 to Castellón, Barcelona, Alicante and Murcia. The A-7 motorway north and N-234 from Sagunto to Teruel, and further to Zaragoza and the Basque Country. The N-III to Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha. The A-7 motorway south and the N-332 to Benidorm, Alicante and Murcia.

By bus

The Bus Station provides links to major Spanish and European cities. 

By train

From the beautiful Railway Station in central Valencia, there are rail links to a number of Spanish and European cities. The FGV stations (local railways and Metro) provide connections to a number of surrounding towns.

The national train company is Renfe, which operates all passenger trains. Valencia has good and frequent train connections with all major Spanish cities such as Madrid (~1h 30 min, high speed train), Barcelona (~3 h), Alicante (~1h 30 min), Castellón (~50 min), and Sevilla (~4h by high speed train).

On boat

Valencia’s port (the Grao) in the Mediterranean Sea is an important link of transport, either for passengers or goods. There are ferries connecting to Mallorca that take around 8 hours and cost approximately 50€.
